I have an open belief system in ways that accommodate new information in a new world of knowledge. I believe in the innate ability of the body to heal itself.
All of us have an army of defense against disease and pain. My job is to assist
the patient in this process using chiropractic medicine.
In simple terms, the spinal nerves can be likened to the wires running from
your home's circuit box. Just as certain wires in the fuse box control different parts of
your house such as the kitchen, bedroom, and the laundry room.
So the nerves
from the spinal column control different areas of the body sending messages to the
arms, legs, heart, lungs, kidneys stomach, and intestines etc. With chiropractic
adjustment we align the spine which "frees up" the spinal nerves to give maximum function
to the muscles and organs.
Nerve impingement may also cause pain and dysfunction to the area
of the body controlled by the affected nerve. As the nerve is released, function is restored
and pain is eliminated.
Supportive therapies are employed to aid in the healing process. Electrical
stimulation, diathermy, and massages are used to reduce muscle spasms and pain,
and to increase circulation and mobility. X-rays are tools to establish a diagnosis and
to determine a course of treatment. Sometimes, other diagnostic studies such as a MRI or
CAT Scan are needed if a problem persists, or if a condition of a more serious nature is
suspected.
We have a network of the finest neurosurgeons and general practitioners for referrals
of conditions that require medical or surgical intervention.
